A few words about the man I love
When Pat and I first met, there were so many qualities that he possessed that showed me what kind of person he is. I immediately knew that he was special. He is one of the most positive, easygoing, determined, and caring people I have ever known and it is evident in all areas of his life.
One thing that stands out about Pat is his ease of spreading positivity. From the very beginning of our relationship, he would ask me, "What was your favorite part of the day?" If something is bothering me, and I think of everything that could go wrong, he gives me all the reasons it could go right. He has this way of making me feel better even on the hardest days. I know that when we have a child and they're feeling down, he will be able to cheer them up and provide amazing advice.
"What was your favorite part of the day?" ~ the question he has asked me from the very beginning, and still does today.
Pat gets along well with everyone. It doesn't matter if he's with family or friends, meeting new people, or on a work set ~ Pat is talking with people, asking them questions about themselves, and making them laugh. He makes it known how much he cares about others.
Pat is one of the most determined people I know. From the day I met him until now, he has shown determination in all areas of his life. This shows in his work as a freelancer, helping solve problems at home and at work, and in his weight loss journey. After being overweight for most of his childhood and early adulthood, Pat lost 300 pounds, has kept it off for over 10 years, and has made health and fitness an important part of his everyday life.
Watching Pat with our nieces and nephews has proven to me through our 8 years together that he is a natural father. He is fun and silly, and never pretends he doesn't love it. But what I admire most is watching him with young people ~ welcoming someone into our home and caring for them has been seamless for him. I have loved watching him offer support and give advice. But most of all, I have loved watching how much Pat loves taking care of a child.
Our future child is even luckier to get to call him dad.
I know that these qualities will be evident when he becomes a father. For these reasons, and a million more, I know that Pat will make a wonderful father. I am beyond lucky to call Pat my husband, but our future child is even luckier to get to call him dad.
With all my love,
~ Tracy
