Our Furry Family
Clyde, Bird & Bronx
Three dogs, three very different stories, and one very full and very happy home.
Clyde
Named after Walt "Clyde" Frazier ~ New York Knicks, 1970s
Clyde was the first dog we got together as a couple ~ and Tracy's very first dog ever! On the day we met him, he kept going up to Pat but didn't seem very interested in me at first. But as soon as another dog came up to me, he barked and jumped straight into my lap. We knew instantly that he was ours.
From that day forward, Clyde has always been a people dog. He goes to dog parks and runs up to every human first before playing with other dogs. When company comes over, he rolls on his back for belly rubs. He loves his humans and always wants to be touching at least one of us at all times.
He was scared of grass. Now he runs laps around the yard.
Bird
Named after Larry Bird ~ Boston Celtics, 1980s
We always talked about getting a second dog, and when our friends told us about a small dog that had been recently rescued, we decided to go meet him. We knew Bird would be a good fit for our family because Clyde wasn't even a little bit jealous when we held him ~ and that said everything.
Since Bird is a rescue, the start of his life was not very good. This caused him to be very nervous around people, especially new ones. He was even nervous to walk on grass. Now he runs up to people to give them kisses the moment they come through the door, cuddles on our legs, and runs laps around the yard. His glow-up has been everything.
He was supposed to go to an adoption event. He had other plans.
Bronx
Named after the Bronx ~ home of the New York Yankees
Bronx came to our family in a much different way. He is a relative of Bird, and we were asked to foster him until he found his forever home. After a few months with us, Bronx was supposed to go to an adoption event. He made it very clear that day that he did not want to leave. And so he joined our family. We like to say that Bronx adopted us.
Although usually a little nervous, he is not afraid to let us know when he wants something ~ like dinner or a belly rub ~ by stomping his feet. When he is comfortable, he will cuddle on the couch or bed for hours. He loves warm weather and sunshine, and can spend an entire hour outside just laying in the light.
Three very different dogs. One very full house. And a whole lot of love waiting to be shared.
